__________________artists' live/work [unbuilt] Designed to house the living and studio spaces of twenty artists, this project wove the spaces together with a two story gallery space. The gallery space was accessible from the street for easy access from visitors, as well as easily accessible from each artist's unique space. The site was encompassed on two sides by major roads and a river on the final third. Due to the busy nature of the neighborhood, the street sides of the building had minimal fenestration, while still providing a clear opening for guests to enter the gallery complex. The individual live/work spaces were located inward on the site, taking advantage both of views of the river as well as northern light, which is highly valued by artists.
